1. What is a backlink & why do I need them?

A backlink or inbound link is a hypertext link from an external website to a page on your website. In the SEO world the terms backlinks or one-way links are often used.

The ability to click on a piece of text and see a related page is a fundamental part of what makes the World Wide Web useful. For an individual website owner inbound links are important for the following reasons:

• They can increase your website's ranking in search engine results pages (SERPS) for queries using the keywords in the link anchor text
• Inbound links from a site already indexed by a search engine will enable the search engine robot/crawler to find your site during the normal website indexing process. Each inbound-link represents a possible entry point to your website, increasing the frequency and depth of indexing.
• They can increase your site's PageRank or ranking with similar algorithms

2. Where are backlinks obtained from?

You can obtain a backlink from any website provided that the owner is willing to publish a link for you. It is important to remember that reciprocal links are of limited use (i.e. where you have to provide a link back to the website that is linking to you). To achieve optimum results you will need one-way links. 6. Will I get penalised for having too many backlinks, too quickly?

Depending on the age of your website, we will be able to recommend appropriate packages for you. It is true that in some cases, brand new websites obtaining thousands of links overnight are temporarily penalised. This is known in the industry as a "link spike". We have never had a single case where a client that has suffered a drop in search engine positions due to our link building services though. Common sense prevails here. We prefer to let your links grow at a more natural pace and that's why we submit them over several days, weeks or months depending on how many links you require. 7. Do you vary the anchor text that is submitted with my links to avoid duplication issues?

Yes! We allow and recommend up to 10 different website descriptions and titles for example when submitting to business directories. The more variety the better. We will help you with this when it comes to submitting your forms and starting off your campaign.

8. How high are the Page Ranks of the sites you typically get links from?

The page ranks vary from directory to directory and blog to blog. We always go for the sites with the highest page ranks first but in order to obtain high volumes of links there has to be a range of sites with Page ranks from 0 to as high 8 or 9. We have found that links from sites with a wide range of Page Ranks seems more natural and generates the results our clients want.

9. What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by debit card or credit card via Google Checkout, BACS or cheque. For monthly packages payment is required by Standing Order.

10. How soon does the link building campaign start once I place my order?

Provided that you supply us with the information we need (e.g. target keywords, website descriptions etc.) then we can start the same day we receive your order in most cases. If you need help getting the information together then we can do this for you and it may take a little longer but no more than 2-3 business days.

11. How quickly can I expect to see my search engine positions improve?

This is very much dependent on the package you go for, the level of competition for your target keywords and the age of your website. We cannot make accurate predictions or offer guarantees about the results of the backlink building services we offer. However, our clients typically see results within 3 months and almost always major improvements are achieved within 12 months.

12. What happens after I place my order?

You will receive an online form and guide on how to complete it. This will give us the information we need to start your submissions. If you need help with the form one of our staff will assist you. Once the form has been received your submissions will usually start the same day but at the most within 3 working days.

13. How do I identify what keywords to target?

You probably already have an idea of what keywords people might be using to search for your products/services on the internet. Before submitting any information to us though, please check by using a free tool like Google's Keyword Tool at https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/KeywordToolExternal. Simply enter a few relevant keyword phrases to see how many searches are being conducted through google for those keywords each month. This will help you identify what your target keywords should be. You dont need to include every possible keyword. The more popular and relevant the keywords, the better in terms of traffic generation - we usually suggest aiming for 5 keywords or keyword phrases.
